So I created this little corner of the internet in an attempt to blog about my parenting experiences. I know there are lots of amazing Mummy blogs out there, and while I’m not sure mine will be nearly as good as those ones, I still think it’s an important outlet for me to talk about my day-to-day experiences as a stay-at-home Mummy to my lovely daughter Eloise Daisy. I’ve had a few blogs in the past, and always struggled to update them, but seeing as how I’m so passionate about parenting, I was hoping this one might be more successful.
I named this blog ‘The Magical Mummy’ for two reasons:
1. Disney is my biggest love outside of my family, and friends are always joking that I’m a ‘real life Disney Princess’. I think this love of Disney and fantasy translates into my mothering style, as I’m always trying to bring elements of fantasy into our daily adventures.
2. I often say to Eloise, ‘Mummy’s not magic’, when I feel overwhelmed or stressed out, but I thought it would be nice to put a positive spin on this phrase, and imagine that maybe I am magical, because let’s face it, motherhood is a really hard job to do, and we should give ourselves the credit we deserve for working so hard every day to meet our kids’ needs.
So, The Magical Mummy was born, and here I am. For those who don’t know me, here is a brief run-down. My name is Lauren, I’m 31 years old, and I’m married to the lovely Bob. Our little girl Eloise is currently almost 9 months old, and is growing fast. She’s big for her age and quite the sociable and active little bub, always crawling away to explore new things and meet new people.
Outside of motherhood, I have a wide range of interests, ranging from Disney to fashion and yoga. I’m vegan and I love food. I’m honest, genuine and full of self-doubt, as I’m sure a lot of parents are, but I love life and try to find the magic in every day, so I guess I named this blog perfectly.
Anyway, that’s all for now. I’d love it if you’d all follow my blog and hopefully there will be more detailed updates to follow.
